Yola was a research assistant at the DICE lab from December 2020 to August 2022. Yola has decided to pursue a career in journalism and will be working as an editorial intern at Agate Publishing and as an editorial fellow at my dream publication, The Business of Fashion.
Ursula Moffitt
Dr. Moffitt was a Postdoctoral scholar at the DICE lab from 2019 to 2022. As a NSF Postdoctoral Fellow, she conducted her research on Politics, Activism, and Identity during the United States’ 2020 presidential elections. Dr. Moffitt is now a tenure track Assistant Professor at Wheaton College, Massachusetts.
Sarah Eisenman
Sarah was a research Assistant at the DICE lab from 2020 to 2022. During her last year at the DICE lab, Sarah conducted her Senior honor thesis “’I Still Kinda Don’t Feel Like Enough’: Trans*normativity, Whiteness, and the Diversity of Genderqueer and Non-binary Identities.” Sarah with begin her MSc on Child & Adolescent Mental Health at the University College London in the Fall of 2022.

Kara Dastrup
Kara was the Lab Manager at the DICE lab from August 2019-August 2020. She will be starting her PhD in CLinical Psychology at the University of Washington (PI: Dr. Corey Fagan) this fall.

2020-21; Research Assistant; At DICE, Adia worked on her senior thesis project which analyzed both the content and context of black youth’s discussions of sexuality.

Austin is a research assistant at the Culture, Diversity and Inequality lab in Kellogg, and an Office Assistant for Northwestern Multicultural Student Affairs. He is currently a 2nd year student in the School of Education and Social Policy Studying Learning and Organizational change with a 2nd major in psychology and a minor in African American Studies.

Abbey is pursuing a master’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Sciences at Northwestern University. She also works as a Graduate Counselor in Northwestern’s Office of Undergraduate Admission, as well as facilitating weekend workshops about community development and philanthropy for high school students.

M Nelsen

M was a graduate student and lead on the iLit project at DICE! M graduated with a Master of Arts in Psychology. “Currently I am the Youth Coordinated Entry Coordinator at the Alliance to End Homelessness of Suburban Cook County. I facilitate the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project. YHDP is a relatively new HUD grant that provides 6 million (by application) for CoCs to develop programs focused on partnering with young people to create & fund houselesness solutions for folx 18-24. Kelsey works at an after-school program at an elementary school located in Evanston with Y.O.U., and will attend Temple University in the Fall to pursue an Ed.S. degree in School Psychology

Olivia is a research assistant in the Cognition and Development lab at Washington University in St. Louis. She is excited to work on a study in the lab investigating the development of optimism in children and exploring links between depressive symptoms and lack of optimism. Olivia is currently a sophomore and plans to major in Psychological and Brain Sciences.

August 2020; Research Assistant; Jason will be earning his PhD/EdS in School Psychology. He will be working with Dr. Janine Jones studying the effects of mindfulness-based programs for at-risk students. These programs are designed to enhance resilience for students that face implicit biases.
